- Explosion hits district court in Ludhiana, several feared injured
An explosion was reported in the Ludhiana district court on Thursday afternoon and many were feared hurt. Initial media reports said that two bodies were recovered, however, there is no official confirmation on casualties or number of affected people. More details awaited. - In big boost to Covid fight, Ludhiana steel plant amplifies oxygen production
In order to ensure seamless and unhindered supply of medical oxygen to the hospitals in Ludhiana, Vardhman Steel Plant in the city has set up another unit to amplify oxygen production. Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma inaugurated the plant on April 26. He said, "From here we are getting 1,500 cylinders of oxygen per day. This is a big help. We need 2,800 cylinders."

- Chakka Jam: Sea of protesters eat Langar at Ludhiana - Ferozepur Highway
A huge gathering was seen at Ludhiana-Ferozepur Highway following the 'chakka jam' called by farmers on February 06. The gathering was seen having Langar at the site. However, the Covid-19 norms went for a toss during Langar. The 'chakka jam' was held from 12 to 3 pm today blocking the national and state highways across the country.

- Govt teacher dies of Covid - 19 in Ludhiana; 12 colleagues, 3 students test positive
A 48-year-old government school teacher, who had tested positive for Covid-19, died at a private hospital here on Saturday, following which her 12 colleagues and three students also returned positive results, an official said.
