      According to medical experts epilepsy is a “chronic disorder characterised by recurrent seizures which may vary from a brief lapse of attention or muscle jerks to severe and prolonged convulsions”. Epilepsy is a chronic non-communicable disorder of the brain that affects people of all ages but in most cases it can be successfully treated with anti-epileptic drugs. Epilepsy has been described as Apasmar in Ayurveda according to Ludhiana-based Ayurvedic expert Gauhar Vatsyayan. Experts emphasise that for seizures during epilepsy the golden rule was not to panic. Persons with epilepsy must carry a seizure first aid card.

A number of such workers were provided masks and gloves only once when the Covid-19 lockdown was announced and these had got damaged after a short period. Now I spend from my pocket to buy new protective gears.”It has also been seen that some sanitation workers do their job without wearing masks and gloves these days. Vijay Kumar of the Municipal Karamchari Sayunkt Committee Ludhiana said “Some workers have however got these items twice. We appeal to the MC to take the required steps to provide new masks and gloves to all safai karamcharis sewer men and others involved in sanitation works.”Meanwhile Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu said they would provide new masks and gloves to the sanitation workers soon.

PB 10FV 1242) hit his motorcycle near the Verka milk plant on Ferozepur Road here. The police have booked the tempo driver identified as Sukhdev Singh of Meharban village under Sections 279 337 338 and 427 IPC. OCMan held for smuggling liquorLudhiana: The city police have arrested Manit Singh a resident of Manjit Nagar here for smuggling and illegal sale of liquor. The suspect has been booked under Sections 611 and 14 of the Excise Act.

      Sports CorrespondentLudhiana November 19Trainees of Ashok Karate School excelled in a karate competition held on Thursday. The competition was organised at the Ashok Karate School Shimlapuri. Those who won belts included Sakar Chohan Ritvik Shweta Hardeep Singh Deepa Vidhi Gulati Prince and Shruti won yellow belts while Sahil Dhingan Hardeep Singh Gaurav and Mohit secured green belts whereas Sohan Chohan won blue belt. Karate instructors Ashok Kumar Manoj Kumar and Chuninda Chauhan supervised the competitors in the test. Shihan Ashok Chohan secretary Ludhiana District Karate Do Association congratulated the successful players and advised them to work hard to achieve the next level.

      Tribune News ServiceLudhiana November19Shiromani Akali Dal leader Vijay Danav accused the Municipal Corporation and the district administration of ignoring an unsafe declared bridge over Buddha Nullah near Chand Cinema in Ludhiana. He said the bridge on Old GT Road lies in a dilapidated condition but the authorities concerned wee still in deep slumber. The bridge is crying for attention for a long time but the Municipal Corporation failed to start the project to reconstruct the bridge. The bridge which is said to be over 100 years old was declared 'unsafe' in 2011 as per information. Danav has given warning to the Municipal Corporation authorities that if the bridge reconstruction and repair work was not started soon they will start an agitation.
    • Ensure strict segregation of waste officials told | Ludhiana NYOOOZ
      Ludhiana November 17MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal has given strict instructions to MC's Chief Sanitary Inspectors Health Officer and other officials concerned to ensure segregation of waste and compliance of the orders of the National Green Tribunal. He also discussed other issues related to the solid waste management and directed officials concerned to do the needful. During the meeting a committee that includes the MC and PPCB officials had also been formed to look after the working of the A2Z company and for the inspection of the waste disposal plant. Meanwhile MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal and Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu inspected some secondary garbage dumps in the city today. They instructed the staff concerned and officials of A2Z Group to ensure proper lifting of waste from the dumps.
