      Ludhiana April 13The PAU police registered a case against a man for sexually harassing his 14-year-old daughter. The accused have been identified as Puneet Jain of Gold Link apartments and his relative Amit Jain. The wife of Puneet Jain told the police that in 2018 she along with her daughter and husband lived in Ludhiana. My daughter used to be alone at home and my husband finding her alone at home had sexually harassed her many a times” she added. Since the accused belong to Ludhiana the Pune police shifted the case for further investigation to the Ludhiana police.

      Ludhiana April 13The Ludhiana Police registered an abetment to suicide case against a woman after her husband committed suicide. The deceased's father Nawaat told the police that his son got married to Mansi about four years back. After marriage Mansi started fighting with his son and about two years back she left for Ghaziabad and started living with her parents. My son left behind a suicide note in which he held his wife responsible for his death” alleged Nawaat. The suicide note also mentioned the name of Mansi's father Mangal Sena mother Anju and sister Khushi.

It was on September 15 last year that the same number of people had tested positive and it was the highest single-day spike of 2020. Those who tested positive today include two healthcare workers two cops two pre-operative cases and six teachers. The mass media wing of the Health Department is motivating people to get the Covid vaccination done. He said mass media wing teams go to different areas of the city.

The accused has been identified as Jaspreet Singh a resident of Ekta Nagar Mullanpur. “Both started exchanging heated arguments and later the Nihang attacked the victim with a sword after which the latter died on the spot. The SHO said today acting on a tip-off a raid was conducted at the suspected hideout of the accused from where he was nabbed. A three-day police remand of the accused was sought from court for his further interrogation.

      Ludhiana April 9A city-level technical committee of Ludhiana Smart City Limited has given nod to a project to deal with legacy waste at the MC's main garbage dump. In the first phase around 5 lakh MT of legacy waste will be disposed of. During the meeting the panel gave nod for the installation of legacy waste screening machines and reclamation of land by scientifically processing the MC's existing legacy waste dump site through the process of bioremediation. Huge heaps of legacy waste that looks like hills have come up in past years at the dump site. The MC Commissioner said they had also given approval of financial bid for the C&D waste management plant to be set up at Dhandari Kalan.

The duo have been identified as Jugraj Singh of Udham Singh Nagar Uttarakhand and Harmanpreet Singh of Rampur in UP. The police also recovered three pistols of .315 bore 13 live cartridges from the accused. Khanna SSP Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said the Khanna police started a special campaign against gangsters and other notorious elements. The SSP said a naka was set up on GT Road in Doraha from where police apprehended two persons Jugraj SIngh and Harmanpreet Singh.

This is the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the virus in the district in March 2020. During the first wave the highest single-day spike was 462 cases on September 17.       Ludhiana April 11A servant along with his accomplices held his employer captive and decamped with cash and valuables worth lakhs from the latter's house. “On Saturday afternoon when I was alone at home three persons barged into the house and held me captive. Afterwards they took Rs 6 lakh in cash gold and diamond ornaments from the safe. Our servant Rajesh helped the three accused in committing the crime. Later he along with the trio fled with the cash and valuables” the complainant said.
