A case was registered against five members of the gang on complaint of Joginder Singh a resident of Hans Kalan.
The complainant said he was lured to the house of a tailor of Boparai Kalan village by the accused on Tuesday.
“Amarjit Singh of the gang usually posed as a cop and asked other members to take the victim to the police station.
The DSP(I) said the police had initiated an investigation to identify other victims of the gang.
