Ludhiana toiled hard to pip Moga 3-2 while Ferozepur survived many anxious moments against Fazilka whom they overpowered 5-4 to secure berths in the summit clash. Besides Ludhiana 11 teams — Gurdaspur Mansa Ferozepur Patiala Amritsar Jalandhar Moga Fazilka Sangrur Bathinda and Mohali — battled it out for top honours. In the match for hard-line cup Fazilka drubbed Moga 8-4 to secure third position.
